The relevance of leaders in parliamentary democracy has been highlighted in a growing number of studies. In Spain it has even been argued that their influence is one of the main features of the Spanish political system. Here we test whether the role of leaders at the regional level is similar to the one they play at the national level or if their relevance decreases due to the characteristics of certain Autonomous Communities. For that end we will study to what extent the evaluation of the leaders has influenced the vote in the recent elections held in Galicia, Basque Country and Catalonia, the three autonomous communities whose unique characteristics differentiate them from the rest (other AA.
